Welcome! I’m Mrs. Concepcion, and I am the Reading Support teacher at St. Agnes for Kindergarten-3rd Grade. I have been a teacher for 16 years, 12 of those years being at St. Agnes. I have taught 1st and 2nd grade and now my focus is on reading support. Every day I am blessed to work with wonderful groups of students and families. St. Agnes is a special place. I have had the privilege to be both a parent and a teacher in this loving Catholic Community.
As the Reading Support teacher I work with small groups each day during their classroom’s designated reading time. We work on phonemic and phonological awareness, phonics, syllabication, decoding and encoding skills as well as reading fluency and comprehension.
I work closely with classroom teachers to assess and identify students that need a small group setting for reading support. My reading groups meet each day for 50 minutes.
A little about me: I grew up in Clayton as the youngest of 10 children! I went to Clayton Valley and then received my degree at Cal Poly. I have 3 amazing daughters that are 22, 21 & 19. They remember fondly their time at St. Agnes. My husband and I love to spend time at the beach and are avid hikers.
I look forward to another school year!
